"like a halo in reverse"

One man found guilty of willfully shooting another man in the head is suing over being called an "inmate" while in prison as, he says, it implies that he's gay.

    Is it the "in" or the "mate" that's supposedly a gay reference?? Btw, if you haven't read the comments on the article you should...all the way to the end...I giggled so hard. :)
